PTI QCS Implements Digital Lean Manufacturing Solution to Streamline Front Line Operations in Toluca, México Facility

TOLUCA, MEXICO August 30, 2018 – PTI QCS, a premier supplier of quality containment solutions, supply chain systems and finishing coatings serving the automotive and manufacturing industries today announced it has implemented a new digital lean manufacturing system from Andonix to be used in its Toluca, México facility. SmartWorkStation (SWS) is made by Andonix, a cloud-based technology company founded in Detroit in 2016. PTI QCS is using SWS inside the Toluca facility where more than 100 front line workers depend on tablets and mobile phones to access digital work instructions to inspect and audit 200,000 components seven days a week.

With SWS in place, PTI QCS plant workers are able to create and develop work instructions and checklists in real time. Employees utilize the robust communications platform that gives them immediate access to data about inspections and audits. Front line employees now have immediate access to quality supervisors and engineers when a problem arises on the plant floor. Leveraging lean principles, SWS is providing immediate benefits to PTI QCS increasing its safety, quality and efficiency in real time.

The Toluca employees using the digital system were recently asked about the usage of the new SmartWorkStation solution. Ninety-eight percent of the PTI employees surveyed stated they would recommend SmartWorkStation to other colleagues who work in a similar capacity. Andonix designed the SmartWorkStation to run on tablets and smart phones with Wi-Fi capabilities, leveraging all the remotely stored and secured data on Amazon Web Services.
